Unnecessary Walls

It’s the invisible ones
that really get you—
the ones you build
accidentally,
unconsciously,
without lifting a finger
(maybe with only a word)
until you need no
other prison but
your habits,
your fears,
your aversions

until that day when
someone who cares
lifts the veil and
opens your eyes
so you can see
Earth as an
amazing place.
